You're listening to the Vital Women Podcast.
[00:00:18] Speaker B: Think about the last time you looked at a dashboard.
Was it at the monitor in your car?
Maybe it was a monitor in the hospital.
You're looking for the vital signs. You're looking for the proof of life, the pulse, the energy that says everything here is working as it should.
But here's the thing. As women, we spend so much time checking the vital signs of everyone else. Our kids, our partners, our career, our community that we often forget we're the ones that powering the whole machine.
Welcome to the episode of the Vital Women. I'm your host, Yvette o'.
[00:00:59] Speaker C: Sullivan.
[00:00:59] Speaker B: And today we aren't just introducing a podcast, we're redefining a name and maybe redefining how you see yourself. Please stay tuned for my audio recording to let you know what the Vital Women is all about. Thank you.
[00:01:15] Speaker D: Breaking down the Name when people hear the word vital, they usually think of one or two things. The first is vitality. It's that spark. It's the energy that doesn't just come from a third cup of coffee, but from a soul that actually nourishes. It's feeling alive, not just a live ish.
On this show, we're going to talk about how to get that spark back through health boundaries and mindsets.
The second meaning is where the real power is. Essentially, if something is vital, it's necessary, it's indispensable. If you take the vital organ out of a body, the body stops.
For too long, women have been conditioned to feel like the optional character in their own stories.
The support staff, the background app running 24 7. But you are the vital component. This show is built on the belief that when a woman is healthy and energized and aware of her own spiritual awareness, the entire world around her gets better.
Who is a vital woman?
So we're going to unpacked who is a vital woman?
She's the woman who is tired of grinding and ready to start flowing. She's the woman who knows she has a big mission but realizes she cannot pour from a crack pitcher.
Being a vital woman doesn't mean being perfect.
It doesn't mean having it all figured out. It doesn't mean recognizing your own worth as a requirement, not an extra. It's moving from the exhausted list to the essential list.
The core definition of vital women that being vital is about courage, resilience, leadership and worth.
To be a vital woman is to move toward the things that that scare us.
Here is a picture of my friend.
She isn't just holding an iguana.
She's conquering a fear. She is reclaiming her sense of adventure and choosing to experience the wild parts of life rather than shrinking away from them.
This is the spark in her action.
Vitality doesn't have a body type.
It has a mission.
This next picture shows despite mobility and weight challenges, this woman chose to climb to claim her victory. She reminds us that being vital means having a mindset that refuses to be sidelined. Her joy isn't a lucky accident. It's a calculated triumph of the spirit over the physical. This third picture is the essential pillar of her own name.
Here is a leader who understands that you cannot pour from an empty cup.
She brings balance and spiritual awareness to everyone she touches because she has mastered the art of giving to herself first, she is the anchor, the indispensable heartbeat of her community.
My mentor, Karen Hayes.
The fourth picture and last.
Society often tries to tell women they are less than because of where they come from or the health battles they fight. But look at her. Despite rejection, she remains standing. She is the definition of a vital woman because her value is inherited. It isn't tied to her health or her status. She is essential because she is still here, still fighting, and still whole. Salame CEO of the Glow from Within.
When we look at these four women, we see the full definition of vital women.
We see that being vital isn't just about health in the traditional sense. It's about the courage to face fear and mindset to conquer obstacles, the wisdom to lead with balance, and the resilience to know your worth when the world tries to reject you.
In the coming episodes, we're going to talk to experts, share raw stories, and give you the tools to reclaim your vitality.
In closing, the name Vital Women is a reminder. Every time this show pops up in your feed, I I want you to take a breath and remember you are the pulse. You are the energy. You are essential. If that sounds like a shift you've been looking for, you're in the right place. Your homework for this week.
Identify one area in your life where you've been playing optional and start treating yourself as vital. Maybe it's an extra hour of sleep. Maybe it's saying no to a draining project. Or maybe it's just finally admitting that you matter.
[00:05:56] Speaker C: So I need to go for a.
[00:05:58] Speaker E: Very long walk today because I received some news of somebody that passed away a lot before.
And I came to understand.
It's very windy here. I'm walking the Blue Heron Bridge and I came to understand that being vital, the vital women, it's not just showing the energized part of us, but also when we're sad, when we're vulnerable.
And I needed to go for a five mile walk, which I will be showing to you guys, where I normally walk to feel better, to feel close to Lord the Creator. But I am walking through nature. I feel so connected to him and that's who energizes me and helps me feel idle.
[00:06:50] Speaker F: This is what I need when I'm feeling down, when I'm feeling sad helps me appreciate the beauty that I'm around and God's creation.
[00:07:04] Speaker C: I love looking at the coconut trees.
They just appear to be so alive, so happy, so energized. And I draw from their energy so I feel the same way.
They're just one of my favorite trees, the palm tree, the coconut tree.
[00:07:24] Speaker D: So here I am on the other side of the bridge.
[00:07:29] Speaker C: It was a little bit less windy.
I just want to share you guys my view because sometimes in life we need to pivot.
[00:07:46] Speaker F: We need to figure out what's going to take to help you feel better, to figure out how to take control of your emotions.
When you're feeling sad and not letting your emotions control you, control your entire day. One thing you do figure out, life to make it better.
Sometimes in life, praying and meditating helps you sit still.
But there's other times that you need movement. You need movement to also deal with those raw emotions. When you're feeling sad and it's okay.
[00:08:35] Speaker C: You can always count on finding a diver diving underneath the bridge when it's.
[00:08:42] Speaker F: High tide, just enjoying life.
[00:08:53] Speaker C: High tide to train.
[00:08:58] Speaker F: And we have a few water reefs that's beautiful to look at and explore. And as I continue walking away. But there are some people enjoying the beach because sometimes in life you need to get out no matter what the weather is like and have that space for you to come back to yourself.
[00:09:27] Speaker C: Here are abusos that enjoy the cold water and it looks like they might have been going out paddle boarding and.
[00:09:38] Speaker F: Also enjoying a nice quiet walk on the beach. Today that also helps with how we deal with life, providing that emotional energy.
[00:09:53] Speaker C: That we need to reprogram our brain.
[00:09:56] Speaker F: To tell our brains that we are safe, that we're taking care of ourselves, that we are here.
[00:10:04] Speaker C: I'm here for myself, I'm here for you.
And sometimes we need to learn how.
[00:10:12] Speaker F: To deal with losing someone in life and just mourning that person and enjoying the beautiful memories.
And. And this is how I did it.
[00:10:26] Speaker C: This is how I chose to do it. To go for a very long walk and just sit with the memories of.
[00:10:32] Speaker F: That person and embrace who they were in my life.
[00:10:37] Speaker C: So today I'm going to show you this beautiful area where I walk.
[00:10:44] Speaker E: On.
[00:10:44] Speaker C: A daily basis or every other day, where I come to find my peace and to pray to the Lord.
We will continue on this walk until the end of the path.
So my mentor, who's also a follower of Christ, asked me the other day, when was the last time you opened your Bible?
And I said to her, actually, since the beginning of this year, I haven't opened my Bible.
And she said, open it and read palms 39, which serves as a guidance of protection.
Sometimes the enemy, the devil wants to make you feel discouraged.
But I cannot let that happen. I need to open that book.
I've always been the type of person that looks at life as the glass being half full.
Therefore, I cannot allow the devil to alter my mind because that is not my mindset. I look at the positive things of life. However, real negative things do happen and that is human condition. Sometimes is for us to feel down, to feel sad. But there are many ways for us to pull ourselves back up.
And as I was saying, that is opening that Bible and reading it and using it as a guide.
So I'm approaching the end of my walk.
And when I reach my destination, I'm going to show you. This is where I come to find my peace, to find my joy, to connect with the Lord. Lord, to feel under his wing, to feel the salt on my face.
Even my dog Mac enjoys this walk.
This is where he also finds his joy and his peace. Looking at the water, looking at the boats.
As I approach my sacred place, I say, lord, guide my path.
Walk me through life under your wing.
I feel a piece of heaven underneath my feet.
When I reach this location, everything just comes into place and helps me feel loved and appreciate his creation.
At the same time, I embrace my creativity and embrace life with unbound worried.
I feel grateful that he has given me sight to enjoy what's in front of me, that he has given me hearing for me to appreciate the sound of this boat breaking the waves.
Take a second listen.
That is nature breaking all of my worries, all of my problems, all of my anxiety.
Therefore, as you feel your the weight on your shoulder, shift your body, shift your mind.
Look for your rescue.
Figure out how you can bring peace and joy back into your life.
It will ground you. As opposed to holding on to the pain, holding on to the sadness.
You have the power to bring change.
In having the power to bring change and seeking healing, you reach for God and He's there for you, to take you out of the darkness.
So walking into a new season is not keeping records of the pain, the hurt, the negativity that perhaps you have experienced in the past. It's letting it go. Starting new.
And as we come to an end of January, today's January 29th, I have decided to leave the past where I.
[00:15:26] Speaker D: Said I was going to leave it.
[00:15:26] Speaker C: In 2025 and start a new chapter and begin fresh and new.
And this is my path today.
This is so interesting because when I started my walk, I went through here and I didn't notice this.
[00:15:45] Speaker B: So coming back.
[00:15:48] Speaker C: I walked upon these words.
And no, I did not write that. I'm not walking around with chalk or whatever material they use to write down these words.
So that is God speaking to me. That I am on the correct path.
Walking upon those words confirms that I'm heading in the right direction. Have a lovely day.
And for those that are in cold weather, I will be joining you soon. Stay warm, stay safe.
